What is Human Design

Human Design is a unique system that blends ancient wisdom with modern science to provide a detailed map of how we are uniquely designed to navigate life. It synthesises Astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and the Hindu-Brahmin Chakra system with contemporary fields like genetics, biochemistry, and quantum physics. Often called The Science of Differentiation or The Science of Awakening, it reveals how each of us is distinct and helps us align with our authentic nature.

The Human Design Mandala & Bodygraph

At the core of Human Design is the Mandala (Wheel) and the Bodygraph, which visually represent our unique imprint. The Mandala consists of three concentric wheels:

  • The Inner Wheel contains the 12 astrological signs, showing the planetary influences at the time of birth.

  • The Middle Wheel features 64 Gates, corresponding to the hexagrams of the I Ching, which align with the 64 codons of human DNA.

  • The Outer Wheel displays the specific hexagrams, representing archetypal themes encoded in our design.

At the centre of the Mandala is the Bodygraph, a personal map of energy flow based on nine Centres, which function as information hubs. The Bodygraph integrates aspects of the Chakra system and the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life, revealing how energy moves through us and influences our decision-making, relationships, and overall experience of life.

The Connection Between Genetics, the I Ching, and Human Design

One of the most profound aspects of Human Design is the direct correlation between the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching and the 64 codons in human DNA. Just as genetic codons serve as the building blocks of life, the hexagrams of the I Ching represent fundamental archetypes of human experience. Each hexagram corresponds to a specific genetic codon, meaning that our energetic imprint at birth is deeply linked to our biological coding.

This intricate connection suggests that our personal design is not just a metaphysical concept but is rooted in the very structure of our DNA, influencing how we express ourselves physically, emotionally, and energetically.

The Chakra System & The Kabbalah’s Tree of Life in Human Design

The Bodygraph is an evolved map of human energy that integrates the Hindu-Brahmin Chakra system and the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life:

  • The Nine Centres in the Bodygraph are an expansion of the traditional seven Chakras, reflecting the evolutionary shift in human consciousness. While the original Chakra system describes energy centres in the body, the Human Design system refines this by differentiating them into nine, providing a more precise and individualised view of energy dynamics.

  • The Channels and Gates correspond to pathways of energy similar to the Tree of Life in Kabbalah, where energy flows between different Sephirot (spheres of influence). These pathways define how our personal energy is expressed and interconnected with the larger forces of life.

The Role of Quantum Mechanics & Neutrinos

A key scientific component of Human Design is the influence of Neutrinos - subatomic particles that pass through us in vast numbers every second. These particles have mass and interact with planetary bodies before passing through us, carrying cosmic information that imprints us at birth. From a quantum perspective, this suggests that we are not just shaped by genetics or environment but also by the subtle energetic field of the cosmos. The Human Design system recognizes that our reality is not purely material but is also influenced by unseen quantum forces that shape our individuality.

Understanding Your Unique Blueprint

The Human Design chart provides a personalised operating manual, helping individuals recognize their natural strengths, decision-making processes, and life patterns. At its core, it offers:

  • Strategy & Authority – A personalised guide for making aligned decisions.

  • Centres, Gates & Channels – Insights into how energy flows through you and where you are influenced by external forces.

  • Profile & Definition – Understanding your role in life and how you interact with the world.

Living Your Design

Human Design is not about predicting the future but about rediscovering your true self, free from conditioning. By following your Strategy and Authority, you naturally align with life, reducing resistance and increasing flow. The system helps you see your uniqueness, embrace your individuality, and move beyond comparison, fostering deeper self-acceptance and transformation.

At its heart, Human Design is an experiment - one that invites you to live in alignment with your authentic self and observe how life unfolds when you honour your true nature.

Life, in all its layers, is a constant unfolding of the intangible into something we can touch, see, and experience. For me, Human Design, architecture, food, art, language, and truth are all expressions of this same fundamental essence. Each one offers a unique pathway to deeper understanding, a way to reveal what lies beneath the surface. My journey has led me across continents and cultures - living for almost two decades in the wilds of North Wales, where nature itself became my teacher, and exploring the unseen through the medicine of the shamanic arts. Along the way, I spent many years immersed in the teachings of Osho, where I deepened my connection with non-dual consciousness and the profound wisdom of living beyond the ego. These experiences have shaped my practice as a fine art painter, printmaker, and tutor, where I help others translate their inner worlds into tangible form. (I hold a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting.)

I have always been deeply drawn to architecture, not merely as the design of structures but as a metaphor for life itself. Architecture is a language - a framework that shapes how we exist in the world, how we move through space, and how we build our relationships with the environment and one another. Similarly, Human Design acts as an architectural blueprint for our unique energy, showing how we are meant to exist, interact, and express ourselves. Both architecture and Human Design illuminate how things can be built and deconstructed, how the invisible becomes visible, and how different parts can work together harmoniously.

To me, food is a form of alchemy - transforming raw elements into something that nourishes, connects, and tells a story. Art follows a similar process, capturing fleeting fragments of experience in ways that words cannot. Language is a structure, a bridge between thought and expression, allowing us to communicate the deepest layers of our experience. And truth - truth is the thread that binds all of this together. It is the recognition of something so deeply real that it reshapes us in an instant.

I hold immense respect for the knowledge embedded in Human Design. Understanding this system has required a profound commitment - not just to learning a framework, but to embodying its language. Decoding and interpreting this intricate design is an art, one that demands patience, practice, and reverence. Through this process, I have come to recognise the importance of being able to speak the truth within each individual’s design. True understanding and communication require not just intellectual engagement but also a deep attunement to the subtle and complex energies that Human Design reveals.

Through Human Design, I see how all these elements come together - how each one mirrors and informs the others. Human Design is the architecture of the self, the blueprint of our uniqueness. It speaks to the art of being unapologetically who we are, the nourishment for our souls, and the language that allows us to communicate our truth.

I am endlessly fascinated by the interplay of what is visible and what is hidden - the spaces between who we are and who we are becoming. These moments of transformation, when we shift from one state of being to another, are at the heart of both my personal journey and my work. I seek to distill the essence of things - whether through a chart, a painting, or a conversation - revealing the pattern beneath the chaos and inviting others to see, feel, and experience the richness of their own design.

All of these passions are different expressions of the same energy - the pulse of life moving through us, the unfolding of what is most real. They are how I create, how I connect, and how I help others see themselves, not just as ideas, but as something they can taste, touch, and trust.
